Ajuga - Bronze Beauty - Blue Flowers

The Ajuga is a useful ground cover with short spike of blue flowers. The foliage is evergreen in most regions and has an attractive bronzy-brown color that quickly forms a low carpet of medium-sized rounded leaves. The flowers appear in late spring on 4" spikes and spreads of 12-18 inches. The plant does best in a shaded area but will adapt to the morning sun, the foliage colors will be more vivid with the morning sun. It prefers moist soil with a good drainage, but it will tolerate moderately dry areas. Ajuga looks great in rock gardens as a border plant and mass plantings. Butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to this plant. It is a great perennial ground cover.
