River Birch Tree

About the River Birch: I find the tree so captivating and unique. It displays a light reddish brown cinnamon bark that peels and flakes to give that beautiful look that the birch family is noted for. It does well in wet soil. It has dark green summer foliage and turns a golden yellow in the fall. It is also best adapted to moist, acid soils, but will survive dry soils. It is truly a beautiful tree in the summer and winter, and it is widely adaptable and heat tolerant. Posted by Picasa
